I am sure the Chinese food here is fine, but we like to come and explore their Indonesian menu. I can't say I've had anything that I didn't like. This time we tried the soto betawi beef soup and the smashed chicken. We also enjoyed the Tempeh appetizer. My son enjoyed the soda gembira drink. Some concoction of flavored syrup, sweetened condensed milk and soda water. Many more options to come back and try. There are lots of people waiting four to go orders. But there is plenty of seating in the dining room. They also have a small Indonesian, grocery selection, if you are feeling adventurous and want to take something home.

Austin does not have much of an Indonesian food scene if at all, so Twin Panda really is a hidden gem. It's a small family owned restaurant that I am happy to support. Service is very friendly. They even sell a few Indonesian snacks in the restaurant. Sure, they have your typical Americanized-Chinese food, but if you truly want the best of what they can offer, order off of their Indonesian menu. I recommend getting a taste of their Mie Tek Tek Goreng, Nasi Goreng Ikan Asin, or the Nasi Padang! All of their Indonesian dishes are authentic, delicious, and comforting.

I'm happy to report that Twin Panda is open again after a couple of weeks when they were closed for repairs after someone drove a car through their front window. I live only a short drive away, but the reason this is one of my family's favorite Chinese/Indonesian eateries is the quality of the food. Twin Panda is not a chain; it's a modest, family-run restaurant owned by friendly and welcoming people. Some of our favorites are the dumplings, various combo plates, beef sticks and spare ribs. Don't neglect the Indonesian specialties, either; my favorites are Kwetiau (flat noodles with a protein), Kari Kambing (lamb curry) and Nasi Padang with Beef Rendang. We've never had a bad meal here.

The Indonesian food is absolutely delicious here. I just discovered Indonesian food last year through some friends in Austin and they have introduced me to this fabulous restaurant. Unassuming on the outside but offering fabulous food within! A must try!!

This place has a Normal menu and an Indonesian Menu. The inside is smalll with about 10 tables. Stopped here for lunch and the staff was super friendly. We ordered off the Indonesian menu and had the oxtail soup and pempek (fish cake) dish. Both were delicious. The oxtail fell off the bone and the Pempek was nice and light and not too fishy..

I was recommended to go to Twin Panda from an Austin group I am in.So I was very excited to try! I was able to order my food online and come in to pick up. I think they may also offer delivery. Lots of great options, especially for non-meat eaters. I tried the tofu and broccoli combo and substituted fried rice. The combo also came with hot and sour soup, veggie roll, and a soda. Also, I tried the bihon with tofu. I wanted to try a little of everything so I also got a side of edamame. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal! It was tasty and very filling. The Bihon was very delicious, I'm a big noodle dish person so I enjoyed it a lot. I wish you could add a sauce to the tofu and broccoli, it does have added flavoring from the broth or oil it's cooked in but there is no additional sauce with this dish so I added my own. The fried rice was just okay, not much flavor on its own. This was a great local restaurant to try. Good portion sizes with friendly and fast service!

Food is okay, not a wow. Order several Indonesian dishes, love the ayam penyet. The nasi kapau is far from original. The steam rice (nasi tim) is okay. Missing the chilli sauce for it. Inside the restaurant, they have a tiny groceries corner selling indonesian snack. The service is friendly, however very slow. Server also not very knowledgeable with the menu. Overall is a 4 star for me.

Neat little place serving halal lamb. The owner assured us he personally bought the lamb from A halal grocery store. Other than that, there were plenty of seafood items to choose from which were all delicious. Glad to have visited and love helping out local business owners whenever I can.

Excellent excellent food! The best South East Asian food in Austin! Excellent service too! My husband had been craving Nasi Goreng, which he used to enjoy for breakfast during our trip to Indonesia. I am so glad to have discovered Twin Panda and their Indonesian menu. All the food was flavorful and so fresh. The portion sizes are very generous. I had the spicy eggplant as the vegetarian option and it tasted delicious. You can see the kitchen and the love with which each order is being prepared especially for you.
